Slip into peak leisure while giving back to the community at our local’s night, featuring the Inner West Mudcrabs’ weekly raffle. You scratch the backs of the Marrickville community, and we’ll scratch yours. Metaphorically, of course.
Meat trays, Hawke’s merch and beer are given away each Wednesday at the Leisure Centre, with all money raised from the raffle going to The Inner West Mud Crabs.
As you nervously wait to know if you’ll be shoehorning red meat into every meal for the next week, you can also enjoy our weekday happy hour ($5.99 schooners & $8.99 pints) , as well a special Locals Night deal, $8 chicken wing bowls all night.
THE MUDCRABS
The Mudcrabs have just hit two decades of environmental work in Marrickville and surrounds. Their main focus is caring for the Cooks River and its foreshore, cleaning up the neighbouring bush and restoring the area along the waterway.
Since the Muddies started their Wednesday raffles at Hawke's, they've raised over $60,000 which has helped them plant over 13,000 native tress, shrubs, grasses and ground cover into 14 bush regeneration sites along the Cooks River.
So, for every chance you give yourself to take home a case of Patio Pale Ale or a platter of prawns, you're also helping the Cooks looks its tip-top best.
